Saltpeter or Saltpetre, mainly used for making self-lighting incense, also has a history in the use of Hoodoo spiritual baths and can be used for breaking jinxes, bringing in luck and for protection. It is also used, when gunpowder is not available to you, to create an "explosive" effect or fast, quick action such as in Blockbusting work. 
Add a teaspoon of Saltpeter, a cup of salt, and a tablespoon of powdered blueing in a bath to remove negative influences. Saltpeter can also be used, along with Hot Foot powder, to drive someone away quickly. It has been "alleged" to take away a man's nature in which I will not discuss how it has been said it has been done in the past, but it has been used on Penis Candles or anything to represent the male phallus to obtain the same result.
